No News is Good News

No News is Good News

As healing continues and days turn into weeks we may not write daily but please know we recognize each day as a blessing and a gift from God. We continue to find doses of joy daily. Yesterday Nate was able to go downstairs and watch a movie with the family, “Bednobs and Broomsticks”. Small in a normal life but huge in his as I reflect on less then a month ago we almost lost him! Today their neighbor Julie and…

Sweet Reminders

Sweet Reminders

The day for Nate has been up-and-down due to his energy level but he was able to go into work for about 45 minutes today. Each small step is a great step! Tonight I got to go with Anna and Brooklyn to the play Pirates of Penzance at the High School. When we got home we knelt down for family prayer and Anna said the prayer and said “we are thankful for ears to be able to hear and eyes…

Not my kind of Adventure!

Not my kind of Adventure!

With me not feeling great yesterday, Dr. Murday asked if we would see her first thing this morning to get checked out. I was not feeling well this morning. After talking with the Dr for a little bit, she recommended we walk down to the ER and get some fluids, and see if with fluids, my heart rate would start to drop. Over the past week or two I have had a heart rate of over 100 all the time….

More Ups and Downs

More Ups and Downs

Well today was a day of ups and downs. Nate woke up exhausted and never could get his energy up. About 11 he threw up and struggled with wanting any food or liquids. A good long nap and chick-Fil-A sandwich for dinner got some color back in his cheeks. With the weakness from today he will see the doctor tomorrow morning to get fluids, have wound vac changed and blood draw to make sure nothing new is developing. Hope tomorrow…

Today’s Adventure

The first part of the day Nate was not feeling well, weak and nauseated. At 10am the visiting nurse, Jill came to repack his wound, the pain level with medicine was at a 5 so it was bearable. It took only 45 minutes to do the re-dress, the incision is 17cm by 3cm by 1.5cm deep now these too are big improvements.😊 After resting our adventure for the day took us to get Anna from High school and then to…

Strength beyond my own❤️

Strength beyond my own❤️

Today I went to church for the first time in over a month. I am still really weak so the plans were to get up, rest, take a shower, rest, get dressed for church, rest, then head to church just as the meeting started. I planned to stay long enough to have the sacrament then bear my testimony and be escorted out by my counselors and head home. When I walked into the chapel, I felt an immediate strength from…

Little Adventures

Little Adventures

Today for the first time other than Dr appointments, Nate and I went on a little adventure.  We went to where the band De Novo was practicing.  For the last year Nate has been their sound engineer.  They were thrilled to see him walk in and he was excited to be out.  He sat in a chair while they played 2 songs for him and it was fun to see his big smile and foot tapping to the music. He…

40 Years!

40 Years!

Hello Everyone, I am doing good. Getting stronger each day. Slow and steady progress. I was pretty tired this morning, but by mid-day after another nap I was feeling a bit better. Still sore in my hips, but am moving a little more each day. Today is my Father and Mother’s 40th Wedding Anniversary. This is the first time they have been apart on their anniversary, and I am sad that I was the cause for that. My mother would…
