Sorrow is not forever…Love is.

Sorrow is not forever…Love is.

Today marks one month since Nate’s passing and every day a little miracle happens to remind us that he is near and we can move forward. Nate was known to give his nieces and nephews a “BIG squeeze” which meant a BIG hug. This video that Alicia’s brother David captured and shared yesterday was our big squeeze from Nate. Nate and Alicia’s family started a tradition that trickled through their extended family. They would have scripture study then kneel for…

Forward with Love, Hope & Faith

As we wait for the recording of Nate’s funeral which should be here in a week or 2 and which I will post here when it comes. I am journaling my feelings of the last week of Nate’s life. Today marks 3 weeks since his passing. As I look at the pictures and realize what I know now that I didn’t know then, I wonder if I would have been more conscious of every moment and more appreciative of time…

Home Again

Home Again

Last night I got home to Washington 2 weeks from the day Nate passed away. I have been gone for over six weeks. I flew to Utah January 1st to be with Alicia and Nate as he had been readmitted into the hospital. It seems so long ago because of all that has transpired and yet just like yesterday. This is my first time having some real alone time to process the last few weeks and journal my feelings. These…

T-I-M-E

Yesterday Nate was buried in the Lake Hills Cemetary in Sandy Utah. Scott and a few family and friends gathered to support Alicia, Anna, Brooklyn, Cami, and Drake. I am here in Arizona with my parents and brothers and their wives for my Mother’s 80th birthday. Hard when you wish you could be in 2 places at the same time but Nate would want me here with his beloved Grandma and Grandpa strengthening those family bonds❤️. “In family relationships love…

Finding strength beyond my own.

Finding strength beyond my own.

As the days go by I find my mind wondering and pondering about life and it’s purpose. Grateful to be anchored in the plan of happiness and the knowledge that families are forever. It has been decided that Nate will be buried in Sandy Utah near his family on tomorrow, Saturday in a small gravesite ceremony. Scott has flown back to be there but I am staying here in Arizona with my mom for her 80th birthday tomorrow. Nate would…

Skittles

Skittles

Dear wonderful friends and family yesterday marked 1 week since Nate’s passing. It still seems like a dream and I find myself thinking oh he is just in the hospital… This picture is significant to me. Years ago our family came up with a code word to say I love you, you are important to me, I care when at school it was not “cool” to say I love you. That word was Skittles. That is how we felt this…

Nate Is Smiling😊

Nate Is Smiling😊

One of Nate’s favorite quotes was “FAMILY it’s about time”. He is smiling from heaven this weekend as we gather as family and create more memories. Yes grieving is part of that time but grieving together is better than alone. December 2017 he wanted all his siblings, parents & grandparents to come when he was put in as Bishop. He flew us first class. We felt so special and that is how he made us all feel. Today we are…
