Sometimes He Lets it Rain

Sometimes He Lets it Rain

“Sometimes He Lets It Rain.” By Katherine Nelson. The chorus says:

Sometimes He lets it rain

He lets fierce winds blow

Sometimes it takes a storm

To lead a heart where it can grow

He can move mountains of grief

And oceans of pain

But sometimes He lets it rain”

Elder Richard G. Scott explained that “we were taught in the premortal world that our purpose in coming here is to be tested, tried, and stretched.” That stretching comes in as many forms as there are individuals experiencing it.

…through my personal tests and trials—the ones that have brought me to my knees—I have become well acquainted with the One who does understand, He who was “acquainted with grief,” who experienced all and understands all.

When we do so, we also come to understand and trust that the Savior knows the difficulties of the way and can guide us through whatever sorrows and disappointments may come. He is true charity, and His love “endureth forever” – in part through us as we follow Him.”

Today we thought we were going home with Nate. This morning at 1:45am Nate became non responsive and Code Blue was called and he has been surrounded by family ever since. It is in the Lords hands❤️ and yes it is raining.

  12. Tonight as I cooked dinner I cried and grieved for Alicia and the kids and all of the family and Ward family that have been loved so deeply by Nate. My daughter asked if it was the onions and I explained that no it was actually Daddy’s cousin Alicia that I was worrying for and praying for. All our love and prayers are putting out of our hearts heavenward and to you all. We’re just in bountiful and would love to help in anyway we can!

  13. Jesus climbed the hill to the garden still.

His steps were heavy and slow.

Love and a prayer took Him there

To the place only He could go.

    Gethsemane. Jesus loves me,

So He went willingly to Gethsemane.

He felt all that was sad, wicked, or bad,

All the pain we would ever know.

While His friends were asleep, He fought to keep

    His promise made long ago.

    Gethsemane. Jesus loves me,

So He went willingly to Gethsemane.

The hardest thing that ever was done,

The greatest pain that ever was known,

The biggest battle that ever was won—

    This was done by Jesus!

The fight was won by Jesus!

    Gethsemane. Jesus loves me,

So He gave His gift to me in Gethsemane.

    Gethsemane. Jesus loves me,

So He gives His gift to me from Gethsemane.

  17. Made me think of the lyrics of one of my favorite songs – Blessings by Laura Story.

    We pray for blessings
    We pray for peace
Comfort for family, protection while we sleep
We pray for healing, for prosperity
We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering
All the while, You hear each spoken need
Yet love is way too much to give us lesser things
‘Cause what if your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You’re near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise
    We pray for wisdom
    Your voice to hear
We cry in anger when we cannot feel You near
We doubt your goodness, we doubt your love
As if every promise from Your Word is not enough
All the while, You hear each desperate plea
And long that we’d have faith to believe
    When friends betray us
    When darkness seems to win
We know that pain reminds this heart
That this is not our home
    What if my greatest disappointments
Or the aching of this life
Is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can’t satisfy
What if trials of this life
The rain, the storms, the hardest nights
    Are your mercies in disguise

  18. Our hearts are full of love and admiration for you all! What a pure example of faith and works you have exhibited throughout this journey! Our hearts and prayers are with you today and always!
