Skittles

Skittles

Dear wonderful friends and family yesterday marked 1 week since Nate’s passing. It still seems like a dream and I find myself thinking oh he is just in the hospital… This picture is significant to me. Years ago our family came up with a code word to say I love you, you are important to me, I care when at school it was not “cool” to say I love you. That word was Skittles.

That is how we felt this weekend as the show of love and support for Nate, Alicia and their family and our family was overwhelming. Both viewings a steady stream of love and stories about Nate. Over 800 people attended the services. A whole group of Nate’s beloved Woodinville family showed up!

Scott Jarvie a mission buddy of Nate’s took this picture of the family support for Nate’s family.

We are still waiting on the recording of the funeral and will post it soon as we get it. It was uplifting and truly inspiring. At one point Tracy Cowdell a good friend asked all who have been helped by Nate in someway with electronics to stand up. 95% of the audience stood. It was a powerful visual of how Nate had reached out and served so many and made me ponder do I do the same?

So as we try to move forward without our dear Nate here on earth the words from the song his daughters sang at his bedside in the hospital and then again at the funeral ring true.

Peace in Christ

There is peace in Christ
When we learn of him
Feel the love He felt for us
When he bore our sins
Listen to his words
Let them come alive
If we know Him as he is
There is peace in Christ.

chorus:
He give us hope
When hope is gone
He give us strength
When we can’t go on
He give us shelter
In the storms of life
When there’s no peace in earth
There is peace in Christ.

There is peace in Christ
When we walk with him
Though the streets of Galilee to Jerusalem
Mend the broken hearts
Dry the tear-filled eyes
When we live the way he lived
There is peace in Christ
He give us hope
When hope is gone
He give us strength
When we can’t go on
He give us shelter
In the storms of life
When there’s no peace in earth

There is peace in Christ.

Nate is near and we will see him again I have no doubt! Forward with Faith. Skittles Son❤️

  1. Skittles to Nate and to all the Davis family. I am thankful for your love, faith and example throughout the last several months. May each “tomorrow” help each of us remember Nate’s example and celebrate his amazing life.

  2. Oh! My eyes are wet with tears as I read these heartfelt words with such faith-filled loving eloquence.
I can say no more except that I love my very own Davis family—— now and forever!
