Excited, but Nervous…

Excited, but Nervous…

Oct 17, 2018 – 5:30am; I am here in Nate’s hospital room – took the night shift. We have been woken up several times due to gas pains he experiences as his system figures out how to function. At 3:30am, when the nurse came to administer the antibiotic that fights any residual c-def infection, Nate was feeling strange, sick to his stomach. He said, “Can I get up and walk?”, so with the web of tubes and machinery following him,…

Prayers Needed

Prayers Needed

Wonderful friends & family! Nate continues to heal, but one thing that has not started is the kidney. I know the power of prayer and fasting. I have seen it! Please add to your prayers a special blessing that Nate’s kidney will kick in. Nothing life threatening right now, but it would help him through the pain as the kidney is not filtering what it needs to. We are pulling for you Nate!! Love, Nichole

He also wrote that he slept 7…

Slow and Steady…

Slow and Steady…

Nate was taken off the dialysis. His blood pressure looks great, all vitals are stable and he looks better than he has in a while. Though at times Nate is a little uncomfortable, he is able to rest very well and get the sleep he needs for his body to recover. We will continue to update this post throughout the night as things progress. Thank you for all the prayers and fasting on Nate’s behalf. This day started out very…

Surgery Over, Healing Begins…

Surgery Over, Healing Begins…

About 5:40pm tonight, Alicia got the news that surgery went well for Nate. It was longer than originally planned. The mass was bigger than thought, 16-18cm, so a bigger incision was made. He won’t be on any swimsuit calendars this year ;). He will probably be in the hospital for 2 nights. Alicia will be with him during his stay while Mom manages the kids at the home front. At this point, we are just grateful this part of his…
